Dear all departing tenants...
A brief message to our tenants departing in June.
We wish you well with your exam results and all the best for your future.
There are some vital things to note related to the end of your tenancy.
Cleaning
Please remember to clean your house thoroughly before leaving so it is quickly ready in time for the arrival of the new occupants. We do not want to have to pass on cleaners charges for doing it for you.
Guidance to the standard the house should be returned is found in the link: http://www.leydonlettings.co.uk/Cleaning.html. This will also give you an estimation of costs attached to hiring professional cleaners.
If the house is not satisfactory, any deposit may be delayed in order to calculate costs attached to cleaning and repairs. Alternatively guarantors may be sent the cleaners bill!.
Return of Deposits and Keys
Few houses require a deposit. Where required these are returned in full when the last person vacates the property, following inspection and provided the house is cleaned to the standard shown on the website and keys returned.
Remember to redirect your mail and protect your identity
Do not risk your exam results being sent to your former home. We do not have time to collect and redirct your mail. Have your mail inexpensively redirected via the post office to your new address before you leave. Also inform your university of your new address. Remember how annoying it was for you to pick and deal with the constant stream of previous tenants post? Do you want your mail to be at risk of others able to see your credit card details? Identity theft is on the increase so be sure to shred or take any documents with your personal details with you - do not put them in the bin where others can find your bank statements etc. Currently id theft is up 32% and especially related to victims bank accounts. Past tenant post can be delivered for years. It only takes one dishonest person to take over your accounts!
We are always happy to provide references should you require one prior to or after leaving.
We regularly receive such requests from future employers lenders and landlords.
Any queries are probably answered on: FAQs but feel free to ask.
Kindest Regards,
Bob Leydon.
