Coronavirus Act 2020

The Coronavirus Act 2020 restricted evictions of tenants by extending notice to quit periods and by essentially denying access to the courts to enable evictions.  This resulted in many landlords being prevented from receiving rent and thus unable to pay their mortgages. Lenders were likewise restricted from forcing landlords to sell in order to pay mortgage arrears Notice periods were extended by as many as 6 months before reverting back to pre-covid periods of mainly 2 months.
