Penalties
- A fine for non compliance
- Fail to register a deposit and landlords and letting agents can be fined up to 3 times the value of the deposit.
- Fail to provide an EPC likewise.
- Some failures also carry a prison sentence such as failure to provide or ensure safety by procuring certification to proove it was safe prior to and throughout the tenancy:
