Mandatory Licensed Properties
Mandatory Licensed Properties MLPs must comply with various rules
- The extension of MLPs means any HMO property with five or more tenants regardless of the number of storeys must be licensed.
- Extension of Mandatory Licensing Act 2018 the word 'storey' was removed meaning any HMO with five or more tenants was subsequently classed as a large HMO and became simply a Licensable HMO.
- Therefore a Licensable HMO is now a home with at least 5 occupants at least one of whom is unrelated to at least one of the others.
