Prescribed Information (PI)
- Statutes occasionally insist on specific information being given or taken. E.g. deposit protection rules requires PI the holder of the deposit to provide the prescribed information within 30 days of receipt, to the tenant or interested parties.
- prescribed information documents now include:
- EPC,
- Gas certificate,
- How to Rent guide,
- protected deposit (where taken),
- if licensable the property must be licensed,
- accepted prohibited fees (and not repaid them),
- the notice is retaliatory (e.g. for requesting repairs).
