Letting to students? Some things to be aware of:

  • As of 1st October 2018, HMO's comprising of five or more tenants must be licensed under the governments extension of mandatory licensing regardless of the number of storeys.
  • Canterbury introducted Article 4 Direction which will curtail the number of student houses in Canterbury. If you are planning to covert your property to an HMO, you must seek permission from Canterbury City Council. You may require a license if your HMO has five or more tenants.
Leydon Lettings specialises in letting and managing large HMO's. Our standards and best practice go above and beyond minimum requirements to ensure full compliance and tenant safety.
