Section 13 of the Housing Act 1988 - Notice Warning Tenants of Rent Increase
Section 13 of the Housing Act 1988 -
- Notice Warning Tenants of Rent Increase
- See Rent Increase
- See Renters Rights Bill - expected during 2025 to 2026
- Rent increases will only be permissable following issue of a s.13 Notice.
- Rents must be reasonable
- Rents can be challenged and appealed
- Any final appeal decision will take effect from the (later) date of the appeal decision (not from the (earlier)date stated on the section 13 Notice).
- Therefore theere will likely be an increase in the number of apeals if only to postpone any rent increase.
- This will add a legal administative cost to landlords - coupled with a delay in any permissable rent increases.
