Walk off that turkey with these Boxing Day strolls!

Need to walk off that Christmas turkey? Why not enjoy one of these walks!

Exercise seems like the last thing you’ll want to do after stuffing yourself with all that turkey. But in case you feel up for it, here are some pleasant walks in east Kent.

Short walks:

1. Blean Wildlife Trail (under 5 miles)

Where? CT6 7NZ.

With several circular walks, it’s a great place to take the dog and enjoy a Boxing Day walk.

2. Chartham North Lost Landscapes Trail (3-4 miles)

Where? CT4 7HZ.

Following the North Downs Way through the northern part of the parish, you’ll enjoy medieval churches and beautiful landscapes.

3. Minnis Bay to Reculver Country park (3-4 miles)

Where? CT7 9QP.

A flat, coastal walk or a slight diversion can lead you to the top of Reculver Fort and Towers.

4. Marlowe’s Canterbury

Where? CT1 2JT

A short walk to enjoy some of Canterbury’s most fascinating history.

If you feel like a longer walk is needed to get rid of all those mince pies, why not try this?

5. Oare Marshes (7.5 miles)

Where? ME13 7AG

Following the Saxon Shore Way, it is the perfect walk to discover some of Kent’s most beautiful landscapes and historical towns.

6. White Cliffs of Dover

Where? CT16 1HJ.

Offering walks of 4 miles to 16 miles, this is one of the most popular east Kent walks. But for good reason! Offering splendid countryside, coupled with the beautiful view of the English Channel, this is a popular choice for many.
